Do you know what movies are pro business?
I have my favorites, but one of the best scenes that I have seen was recommended to me by a fellow entrepreneur and friend. But more importantly, it was this scene. It’s from the movie, “Sabrina” and made in 1954 with Humphrey Bogart, William Holden, and Audrey Hepburn.
Oh, and do NOT watch the 1995 remake of this movie with Harrison Ford, it describes business as evil and corrupt. Or that it takes money to make money.
Hollywood of late seems to want to show that all businesses are evil and terrible for everyone. While I might agree that there are businesses that do commit bad things, but that does not make business as a whole bad. It makes the unethical or even criminal business bad. You don’t throw out the baby with the bath water.
The fascinating thing about watching movies these days with my wife is that our ears perk up when there is the discussion about talents, business, profit, etc. I have been amazed at how 20-30 seconds of dialog in a movie gives great content concerning life and being in business. Pro business concept connection can only be a good thing for entrepreneurs, right?
But it is important that you understand the correct and honorable view of business first before you can detect good movie dialog and content. It is NEVER easy to start and run a business, but worth it.
